Queer books
The Pond stocks exclusively LGBTQIA+ literature and other works by artists and creators in the community. LGBTQIA+ literature are books featuring both LGBTQIA+ characters, themes or discussions by LGBTQIA+ writers, with a prioritization of own voices (e.g. Lesbian author writing lesbian characters).
Our focus
It is important for us that everyone can feel seen or learn from the literature we provide, therefore we have books from all identities under the queer umbrella. With a focus on multi-marginalized authors, such as BIPOC and disabled writers with a prioritization of indie published and translated works, where possible.

Our selection covers a range of writing with memoirs, poetry, essays, academic, research books within nonfiction, to fiction works including literary/historical fiction, SFF, speculative, romance, horror/thriller/mystery, experimental works and classics. Books for children and young adults are also available.

Currently we do not have a webshop, but we are working on it! In the meantime, you are more than welcome to email us with a shipping request and we can ship the book(s) to you.
Is it possible to buy books online?
Yes! We have some in-store shelves highlighting books recommended by our community. If you are queer and a moderate to avid reader who would like to curate a shelf, please send us an email and we will provide a form for you to fill out. Thank you for considering sharing your valuable insight and experiences with us so we can continue to share LGBTQIA+ books.
i want to curate a shelf, is this possible?
If a book you’re looking for is not on the shelves, we can order it for you. This is possible even when the book is non-queer given that the author’s political views support all human rights, liberation & justice. There are many great books out there that are not explicitly LGBT+ and we appreciate your support.
