The small queer press is a continuous 2025 book club at The Pond aiming to uplift queer published works from smaller -mostly indie and micro- presses focusing on diverse stories of LGBTQIA+ life and people.
The book club will run in 2-3 month cycles, each quarter focusing on a different press.
In November and December we are exploring the works from tRaum Books. For December we are reading “H: a novel” by R Merey:
Everything you do is wrong, everything you desire is wrong. You must drain yourself of the bad blood and walk yourself to the Pure Life.
This is a trash novel about Kyoto, the Kamo river; cigarettes; flip-phones; school girls; runaways; Arthur Rimbaud.
Water, language, friendship and desire.
This transient, shit world.
Virgins. Vampires. And true love.
Brought to you by the letter H.
And also, the letter V.
tRaum Books is a queer micro press publishing authors from around the world. Their aim is to highlight trans and queer narratives and unusual narrative structures, through novels, novellas, short story collections, poetry, art books, mixed media and graphic novels. They publish creative, queer, strange, and subversive fiction.Read more about them here: https://traumbooks.com/
